Wine Summary
The lovely Château le Bonalguet is situated in the village of Saint-Germain-du-Puch, to the east of Bordeaux. The 25-year-old vines, situated on clay and limestone soils, are planted mostly to Merlot, Cabernet and Malbec. 2016 was <i> “unequivocally a great vintage in Bordeaux” </i> (The Wine Advocate) which produced <i> “absolutely remarkable wines” </i> (critic Antonio Galloni). This exceptional Bordeaux has been rated a <i> “near-perfect wine” </i> by Fabrice Sommier, a former Best Sommelier of France who works at George Blanc’s 3-Michelin-star restaurant in Lyon. It also sports THREE Gold medals from some of France’s toughest shows. The nose shows ripe fruit (cherries and blackberries) with lovely floral hints and a delicate herbal note. On the palate, the fully ripe, silky smooth tannins ensure an elegant and perfectly balanced wine with remarkable length.
