Wine Summary
The Waxed Bat takes its name from the bats that used to flutter in the candle-lit cellar of Opi Sadler's father. Fast forward several decades and it's Opi who's working his magic in the cellar - and taking the quality of his legendary Waxed Bat to new heights in the form of this very special Reserva edition. Cassis scented Cabernet and spicy Malbec have been patiently barrel aged to create a silky smooth, round wine that retains all the vibrant fruit intensity that makes regular Waxed Bat so popular. And it shows that Malbec and Cabernet from Argentina's high altitude Mendoza region is a match made in heaven. Smooth enough to drink solo but at its very best with garlic studded roast lamb or a juicy sirloin steak. Decant early if you can.
