It has the crisp, refreshing character that made Pinot Grigio such a global phenomenon, yet is rounder and packed with juicy stone fruit and citrus. And good examples – like this – have a nutty, spicy complexity and a long lasting finish, too. Unlike other aromatic whites, Fiano enjoys the sun and thrives in Puglia, home to Angelo Maci’s multi award winning winery. However, to gain that optimum of fruit versus freshness balance Angelo sources his grapes from cooler hillside slopes surrounding the ancient towns of Lecce and Brindisi. Another cracking Pillastro wine – an ideal aperitivo or seafood match, from fish to crab risotto.
