Wine Summary
It's not every day a Venezie Pinot Grigio is awarded 97 Points by top critic Luca Maroni. But, last vintage this was and 96 the year before. Il Sogno is from a family estate located close to Veneto's prized Lugana. Founded in 1971 by Walter Delibori and Giorgio Cristoforetti, the company is still run by the two families. To make this appetising white, the winemaker sourced fruit from vineyards planted on the well-drained, morainic soils of the mountain foothills overlooking Lake Garda. Long, sunny days and the cooling influence of the lake and mountains give the grapes more time to ripen. The result is a wine bursting with fruit, while retaining plenty of freshness. A tasty aperitif, and an ideal match for salads, risotto and seafood.
