Wine Summary
Leconfield Cabernet Sauvignon has been the flagship of Leconfield since the first release in 1977. Their philosophy is to produce a Cabernet Sauvignon displaying both depth and elegance where oak complexes and enhances the fruit but is not allowed to dominate. Leconfield Cabernet Sauvignon has developed an enviable reputation for its expression of Coonawarra terrior. The fruit is from mature vineyards grown in the rich terra rossa soil over limestone for which the region is celebrated. Fragrant, ripe cassis and blackberry enhanced with cedar and cinnamon notes through French oak maturation.

Wine Summary
Generous McLaren Vale Shiraz meets well-structured Langhorne Creek Cabernet in a harmonious blend expressing rich cassis, dark cherries and smoky cedar. It's won Gold and has been scored a favourable 93pts, so it is well worth grabbing a case of this classic Australian blend. Speaking of, a little fun fact we enjoyed is the final blend of Super Trooper was confirmed in a back-of-the-ute tasting while the Zonte’s team was bush-camping in the Flinders Ranges’ Arkaroola. Can't get more Aussie than that.

Wine Summary
Margaret River’s 5 Red Star Thompson Estate boasts a state-of-the-art winery and vineyards first planted in 1997 by cardiologist Peter Thompson, inspired by visits to some of the world’s finest winemaking regions. The consistently high scoring wines are made by Bob Cartwright, formerly of Leeuwin Estate. “This moves up and away from the Estate Sauvignon Blanc, with a 60/40% split, putting semillon in the driver’s seat, but we don’t know if two wild-fermented barrels were semillon or sauvignon blanc. Whichever, it’s a complex assembly of tastes and textures, Thompson Estate suggesting a 10+-year cellaring potential… 95pts. Great Value.” (Halliday Wine Companion, James Halliday). To 2029.

The fruit for this immaculate Dragonfly is sourced from 1998 plantings on 5 Red Star-rated Willow Bridge's north-facing Forrest, Jarrah and Blinman blocks. Dragonfly Shiraz is an expression of the juicy and generous varietal blackberry and blueberry fruits they attain in the Ferguson Valley, complemented by fine tannin and supporting French oak.

Wine Summary
"As I taste through Dowie Doole's solid suite of white wines, I appreciate the level of acidity; pleasantly fresh, rather than overtly tweaked. An old vineyard on the sands of Blewitt Springs provides the fruit. Granny Smith apple, lanolin, mint, a melody of citrus and dried pistachio. Supple across the mid palate, with some lees work conferring detail and warmth between the rails of freshness. Great Value... 92pts" (Halliday Wine Companion, Ned Goodwin MW).

Wine Summary
A beautifully fresh Riesling with plenty of capacity to cellar. Fruit, floral and spice notes of bush lime, lemon myrtle, native frangipani and star anise make for an enticing bouquet. Bright citrus, juicy red apples and rich beurré bosc pear provide fruit volume and a suppleness of texture to the palate. Fine savoury/mineral notes and a tangy acidity give crispness and balance to finish.

"The wine builds layers of intensity each time it is retasted, with a classic Great Southern mix of lime, lemon, apple and pear aromas and flavours. Length is a given, as is a long future. Great Value... 95pts" (Halliday).

Wine Summary
“It’s not often a person becomes a legend in their own lifetime” says James Halliday of the man called the ‘Baron of Barossa’. His story and the acclaim his renowned estate commands are remarkable. Peter, who has sadly passed away, was born in 1930, the fifth generation of Barossa pioneers. He made his first wine aged 17, and earned a big name at some of Barossa’s finest estates. To safeguard the livelihood of growers, he opened his own cellar in the 1970s. A huge gamble that paid off big time. Halliday gives the estate his highest rating, 5 Red Stars, on top of the countless Trophies and Golds they have won so far.
