<p> Perched high on a ridge above a valley of lush Jarra and Marri forests and close to the famed surf-break at Yallingup, Deep Woods is one of the region’s most picturesque wineries, and one of the country’s most sought after. Still very much a boutique, Deep Woods and talented winemaker Julian Langworthy (the man behind their recent 97pt <i> ‘Best Cabernet in Australia’ </i> ) and his small, dedicated team control every aspect of the winemaking process with an attention to detail that ensures the quality shines through in every bottle. </p> <p> <i> “78% cabernet sauvignon, 18% merlot, 4% petit verdot matured for 18 months in French oak (30% new). An immaculately bred and raised wine, transparently displaying its cassis and bay leaf fruit, its quality French oak and its super fine tannins on its medium-bodied palate. The balance is such that it can be enjoyed now ... 95 points” </i> (Halliday). </p>
