Wine Summary

What’s in a name? The vineyard was previously the source of gravel for building the roads to the property, so had received something of a haircut before vines found their way there. The resulting shallower soil profile leads to a deeply concentrated wine that tends to reflect its rocky name with a tendency to produce, what the team at Willow Bridge like to call “the most macho and mineral style of all our Shiraz blocks”.

"Dense purple-crimson; from a stoney vineyard patch, co-fermented with a small amount of viognier and a few whole bunches of riesling; this is the full-bodied big brother of Dragonfly, the impact of more extraction and more oak quite evident, and demanding patience ... 94 pts" (Halliday).
