Wine Summary

Don't think for a minute that Argentina is a ‘one trick’ wine producer. As this wine shows, Argentina makes a superb job of Syrah, too! During the 1950s Don Alberto Zuccardi started an irrigation company, and in the 1960s he planted a vineyard to demonstrate to the country how his system could benefit grape quality. The rest, as they say, is history.

These days, Rodolfo Montenegro is the estate's highly experienced winemaker, and he reports that the 2014 is very good, with particularly intense Syrah and Malbec. Syrah adds spicy red fruits and structure to Malbec's darker velvety fruit and spice. Rodolfo recommends you drink it with char-grilled steak or sizzling beef burgers ¬– very much the staple fair of his native country.
