Wine Summary

Saint Chinian was one of the first areas, in 1945, to be awarded VDQS status and, in 1982, was given full AOC. The area divides clearly into two. The north, where soils are arid schist making wines with good minerality that age, and the south, where those on clay soils are softer. The village of Roquebrun, with its precipitously steep slopes, belongs in the northern camp and was given its own cru status in 2005.

This wine is made from local heroes Syrah, Grenache and Mourvèdre, fermented to produce a velvety, lush fruit style. Irresistible solo or with cassoulet or slow-braised duck with beans.
