Wine Summary
<p> In Australia, Vermentino is unusual, but Spotlight is finally pushing it centre stage. The grape is originally from Italy and typically displays a racy, lemony, nutty character. Fine examples can also be found in Provence, Sardinia and Australia, where Spotlight, crafted by our good friend of 20 years' standing Sam Trimboli, is one of the best. </p> <p> Sam's previous vintage won the Trophy for best young dry white at the NSW Wine of the Year Awards, prompting our Buyer Dan Parrott to snap it up (bar a few cases for the locals). Dan was first in line again this year and it's every bit as gorgeous. Packed with lemon, almond and hints of passion fruit, it's best enjoyed young and fresh with barbecued prawns, salmon steaks or fragrant Thai dishes. </p>
