<p> His father's early death meant the family estate had to be sold and Nicolas was forced to build up from nothing. At his new enterprise Nicolas sources top quality, old vine grapes, so his wines are wonderfully intense and expressive. Everything is organically sourced, too - from the grapes in the vineyard to the barrels in his cellar. </p> <p> The Nicolas Potel label became an excellent source of predominantly red wines, from Bourgogne Rouge to the Grands Crus of the Cote de Nuits. His hallmark has been to make wines which respect both their vineyard provenance and the style of the vintage while remaining attractively priced. </p> <p>The Domaine’s name comes from "Belenos," an ancient Gallic god of sun and beauty. It is the origin of the city name, Beaune, which was called "Belena" in Roman times, and "Bellene" in the Middle Ages. </p> <p> Chambolle Musigny is one of – if the most – sumptuous, voluptuous style of Burgundy that is typically elegant, nuanced and perfumed. In the style of Chambolle, this is impressively delicate and fine-boned, yet it will certainly improve and benefit from a good decade in the cellar. </p> "Good bright, full red.
