Wine Summary

It comes from one of Australia’s oldest wine regions, located 162 miles northwest of Sydney on the central western tablelands of New South Wales, Mudgee, home to the country’s first plantings of Sangiovese and Barbera – on the Oatley family estates.

Situated at over 1,500 feet and with soils of ancient red clay loam of volcanic origin, the family’s vineyards deliver high quality grapes that with careful nurturing create wines of outstanding varietal character, complexity and balance.

Harvested at night and treated like we would make an aromatic white, the Sangiovese grapes are kept cool and the juice immediately crushed off the skins to give the vibrant yet pale colour. It has been deliberately made at the drier end of the rosé spectrum. Bring on the olives!
