Wine Summary

Réserve des Tuileries is a generously flavoured southern French red of outstanding quality. On the website of the great wine critic Robert Parker, this 2013 is rated 88-91 points. A whopping score for such a modestly priced wine.

It comes from the Roussillon, a dramatic region in the southwest corner of France (and not to be confused with the ochre producing Provençal village of the same name). As is the norm in these parts, the wine is made from Grenache, Syrah and Carignan. The Réserve is aged in oak barrels, a luxurious 20% of which are new.

Reviewer Jeb Dunnuck notes: "Another fruit loaded beauty that gives up lots of black raspberry, plum, liquorice and crushed rock in its full-bodied, decadent, yet pure personality." Hear hear!
