The fruit for this age-worthy Grenache hails from a vineyard aptly named “War Horse”, and while Pirramimma’s winemaking techniques might be considered ‘old-fashioned’ (open top concrete fermenters and wooden basket-presses), the wines are light-years ahead – exciting, vivacious and bursting with fruit. “Hand-picked, open-fermented, basket-pressed and matured in used French barriques. It abounds with red fruits of every description, with an overlay of spice and herb… 94 points” (Halliday). To 2025.
