<p> You'd be hard pushed to find a better value red than this mellow Gran Reserva from sun kissed Valencia – a rich combination of two classic Spanish grapes, patiently aged for over two years in vanilla scented oak. Tempranillo, the noble grape of Rioja, provides red berry character, while Monastrell gives the wine its full-bodied structure. </p> <p> The vineyards are inland from the coast and about an hour from Valencia itself, up in the hills where water is scarce and little grows bar intensely flavoured grapes and olives. John Radford in The New Spain writes: "Spanish wine is more vibrant, happening and fascinating than it has ever been" – an opinion perfectly illustrated by this wine. It's a great match for lamb, roast chicken, tapas or aged jamón. </p>
