<p> The wines of Franco Bernabei need little introduction. He is a former 'Winemaker of the Year' whose is simply known as ‘Mr Sangiovese’. The Taddei family have owned the 180-hectare Lornano estate since 1904. </p> <p> Classico Riserva is the highest quality level in Chianti. What's more, this wine is from the glorious 2009 vintage, and the warm weather ripened the grapes to perfection. Aged for 18 months in fine French barriques, this red is complex and oh so mellow right now with long ripe berry and spice notes. Enjoy with classic Italian fare like saltimbocca … and say buon appetito! </p> <p> Franco has given us a small amount to share. This top-tier, 7 year-old, triple-Gold Chianti Riserva is not to be missed. </p>
