Wine Summary

For this Gold medal winning 2013, local star Audrey Francon hand selected Grenache and Syrah grapes from premium hillside plots just north of Cairanne in Vaucluse, in the southern half of the Rhône Valley.

Wines have been made in the village of Cairanne – founded by the Knights Templar – for centuries. In Audrey's vineyards famous Châteauneuf style galets, or pudding stones, trap heat during the day and release it to the vines at night, helping to ripen grapes to perfection.

Grenache brings plump red fruit and white pepper character to the blend, while Syrah introduces succulent blackberry notes and a savoury, spicy edge. Decant to show this wine off at its best and serve with wild boar sausages(a favourite in the Rhône) or rack of lamb.
