<p> What a treat to discover a tiny parcel of mature Rioja Reserva, and from a top estate. Well, we have been friends with the family since they completed their state of the art winery in 1984, and were the first to export their wines to the UK. Three decades on, the cellar remains one of the finest in Europe and has accumulated a huge number of awards. It was ranked among the 'Top 50 Wineries in the World' for nine years in a row by Wine & Spirits magazine. </p> <p> This eight year old Rioja is nearly all Tempranillo, with a splash of Mazuelo, matured in French and American oak for 17 months, to add an aromatic layer of vanilla to rich, summer berry flavours. Decant and serve with roast chicken or pork, meaty paella, tangy aubergine bake or game. </p>
