The name of this Chianti pays homage to a family ancestor, Orazio Barbanera, who defeated the Florentines in a skirmish in a field of artichokes, earning him the title Duca di Cardino (Duke of Artichokes). </p> <p> This stylish tribute to the Duke blends Sangiovese with local stars Canaiolo and Ciliegiolo for a full, dark cherry and chocolate character. Serve with antipasto, traditional bistecca or Tuscan bean stew. </p>
