Wine Summary

Thierry Ferlay is making a name for himself in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, with many of his wines winning 90+ Parker points. He's very proud of his Domaine Les Cassanets, too. Labelled humble Côtes du Rhône, it's situated in fact slap bang within Châteauneuf – century old politics prevent it from being upgraded. What's more its neighbour is the 100 Parker Point Clos du Caillou.

From a 100 year old family estate, the vines for which are equally ancient, this is a top Rhône red, worthy of a much grander classification. Thierry devotes a great deal of TLC on the wine. Well, the estate is owned by the head of his cellar! Grenache with spicy Syrah and Mourvèdre, this wine is rich, velvety and ripe fruit. Serve with a hearty casserole or game.
