Deep River Black Label Reserve McLaren Vale Shiraz 2012

<p> In the exceptional 2012 vintage, small batches of especially rich Shiraz were selected from some of the region’s best and most trusted growers – like proud McLaren Vale stalwart, Mike Rogers (left) – to craft our Deep River Black Label Reserve. </p> <p> Mike’s vines grow on iron-rich soils near the Onkaparinga river, which has carved out spectacular deep gorges through the foothills, – and given the wine its name. </p> <p> The generously rich fruit from this outstanding vintage was open fermented, and with well-integrated oak makes for a profoundly satisfying, full-bodied Shiraz. From the spiritual home of the small Australian winery and many of the country’s iconic reds, it’s McLaren Vale to a T. </p> <p> Rippling with smooth mulberry, plum and other dark fruit. Cellar a further 4-5 years or decant and enjoy now with steak, grilled lamb, or roasted vegetables topped with chargrilled haloumi. </p>
