Wine Summary

The nose is a summer pudding of lifted red fruits, berries and a hit of cinnamon and Asian spice. Wild cherries, Damson plums, mulberries and an impressive structure balanced by spicy oak. The palate is opulent; intense red berries balanced by soft velvety tannins and supple oak with great balance from the acid reknown in Barossa Grenache.

Or in the critics' words, Halliday says:
"An 80/15/5% blend of whole bunches from adjoining blocks in the Gomersal district, open-fermented , hand-plunged and matured for 12 months in used French barriques. Has more depth and structure than most Barossa Valley GSMs, right up there with McLaren Vale; red and black cherry fruits ride shotgun, supported by perfectly pitched tannins ... 94 pts" (Halliday).
