It’s also an exciting taste of Tuscany’s 2013s, where Sangiovese (star grape that makes Chianti) was a leading variety during a “very good to excellent” harvest, says Wine Spectator. </p> <p> Bright red-purple in colour, this fine red displays inviting aromas of blackberry, cherry and violets, with an abundance of elegant cherry fruit (Sangiovese’s calling card) on the palate. It’s a classic partner for pizza and pasta, and Paolo also recommends it with antipasti (try tangy Pecorino cheese and slices of spicy Sopressata) or Tuscan staples like steak Florentine and ribollita, a hearty soup made with bread and vegetables. </p>
