It boasts nine years of mellow maturity and remarkably even more accolades than the 2003 – two Golds, a Double Gold, seven Silvers, and top wine guide recommendations included in its honour roll of 14 awards. </p> <p> It’s from a tiny estate nestled in the heart of Bordeaux, just outside Pauillac, home to legendary First Growths. Turn right out of Château Lafite ($1,800 a bottle for their 2005), walk past Mouton Rothschild (a mere $600 a bottle) through a small wood and the next vineyard you come to belongs to Ramage La Batisse – yet this perfectly mature 2005 is yours for a steal! </p> <p> “An impressive track record for quality for close to 30 years … an elegant style of Bordeaux” (Robert Parker). </p> <p> After nine years, this has developed deliciously deep, mellow complexity from extended ageing.
