Wine Summary

After the stellar 2009 vintage, no one expected 2010 to better it. And yet critics agree 2010 is the finest claret vintage of all time, with quality elevated to new heights at every level. It's what makes this Gold medal winning claret such good value in a region best known for phenomenally expensive reds.

Just like many of Bordeaux's greatest, Château Langel Mauriac is a Merlot rich blend with both Cabernets (Sauvignon and Franc) adding structure and backbone. It has all the hallmarks of classic claret: ripe berry flavour, supple tannins and harmonious, liquorice complexity - qualities further enhanced by the vintage. While delicious now, there's no rush to drink it. When ready, decant and serve with roast red meats, game or hard cheeses.
