<p> Michael had several ambitions with Blackstrap. He was eager to craft a wine with distinct varietal and regional identity. He wanted to ensure it lived up to the name Blackstrap (it’s named after the locally produced, ‘darkest of all’ molasses). And he sought to craft a wine with the class and finesse to challenge (and even perhaps top) the great Chapel Hill. </p> <p> Blackstrap Shiraz is a flamboyant and memorable red. Very dark and richly textured, it’s full of brooding, vibrant black fruits, touches of violet, olive and spice through its long finish. Time in oak has added velvety chocolate to its rich fruit. </p>
