Wine Summary
Dr Michael Nugent founded Bird in Hand after being part of the team that revived Tatachilla in the 1990s and his family’s new Adelaide Hills estate burst onto the scene, winning Winestate’s 2006 Wine of the Year award .<br><br>The winery’s name refers to its location on top of the 1879 Bird in Hand gold mine on Bird in Hand Road and ‘Two in the Bush’ was the name of one of the mine shafts. Andrew Nugent heads up winemaking, with assistance from the great Kiwi winemaker Kym Milne who brings a wealth of knowledge to an already stellar crew.
