Big Bunch Hawkes Bay Sauvignon Blanc 2014

<p> Hawke's Bay Sauvignons are richer, more tropical-packed in flavour than Marlborough examples, thanks to a warmer climate. For 'Big Bunch', the fruit was gently pressed, the juice cool settled and racked clear for fermentation in tank. A short time on yeast lees for increased texture and early bottling has captured the best of the aromatics and freshness of the fruit. </p> <p> WinemakerJohn Kemble cut his winemaking teeth in Sonoma, California, but made the move to New Zealand's Hawke's Bay because he thought it was the most exciting place to make wine. His ‘Big Bunch’ wines are inspired by his <i> "passion to make outgoing wines, full of character, colour and with a big bunch of flavour”.</i> He's certainly achieved that here - with a Gold medal from the 2015 New Zealand World Wine Awards to prove it.</p> <p> The warm 2014 vintage has produced a wine of powerful aromatics, with a full rich palate. Gooseberry, passionfruit, lime and herbaceous aromas lead into a juicy flavour profile with purity and concentration. Crisp, clean, lingering flavours. </p>
