<p> Barón de Barbón is from a cellar founded in 1926 by José Murúa Villaverde, a descendant of a long line of winemakers. When José retired his winery was sold outside the family, but in 1982 one of his sons - Julián Murúa Entrena - decided to repurchase the family bodega and continue the family tradition. Julián now has all the latest fermentation equipment and more than 5,000 oak casks for patient maturation of his finest wines. And he has now been joined by his talented son Javier. </p> <p> Made in a very good vintage, this superb Reserva was aged for two years in both French and American oak barrels to lend a lavish layer of spicy complexity. It'll show at its best with roast lamb or game, as its redcurrant notes will set off the flavours perfectly. </p>
