Wine Summary

On behalf of our legions of Pinot Grigio fans, we're always looking for the next exciting example to fill our glasses, and here it is. It's not Italian or Chilean (though it tastes every bit as delicious), it's Moldovan. Cahul in Moldova has a long, slow ripening season ideal for zesty fresh whites. A biting northerly wind not only tempers the summer heat there but helps keep pests at bay.

Albastrele, named after the cornflowers that carpet the vineyards in spring, is made with hand picked grapes at the award-winning Tvarditsa Estate. Winemaker Vladimir Lazariuc's Pinot Grigio is rich in flavour with aromas of acacia blossom and flavours of pear and melon. It goes beautifully with fresh pea risotto or simple grilled fish.
