<p> The name celebrates the origin of this very special region. In 1838, John Reynell and Thomas Hardy planted grape vines here, just two years after the colony of South Australia had been proclaimed. Today, McLaren Vale is home to some 75 cellars, mainly family-run boutique wineries, and wine styles loved the world over. </p> <p> The nose smells of sweet, dark fruits and small berries. In the mouth there is a wack of fruit upfront and then it mellows to a smooth finish with fine tannins. </p>
